• Call for abstracts: the deadline for abstract submission has been extended. Please submit your Abstract as soon as possible.
All abstracts will be reviewed by the ISTS 2023 Scientific Committee. All submitted abstracts will be anonymised and peer reviewed by two reviewers without knowledge of the identity of the author(s). The Scientific Committee decides which abstracts will be accepted for individual oral and poster presentation or group symposia. Abstracts will be scored by specific criteria (appendix 1), and as well as suitability in the program and number of submissions.
All decisions of the ISTS 2023 Scientific Committee are final. This includes the format for which an abstract is accepted (oral presentation or poster), the allocation to a conference topic and the awards verdict.
The scheduling of all presentations will be determined by the ISTS 2023 Scientific Committee to ensure best fit with the overall event programme. Any requests for specific dates and times cannot be considered.
• All abstracts are to be in English.
• All submissions must be made through this website . Submissions by fax or mail will not be accepted. Incorrectly formatted abstracts will not be accepted.
• One change to the abstract can be made until the submission deadline. The submitting/corresponding author accepts that the content of the abstract cannot be modified or corrected after final submission and that it will be published exactly as submitted.
• The presenting author is to submit the abstract for review.
• Abstracts should include some data but may not be complete (for example, you are still collecting data but expect to have complete data prior to the conference.) Submissions that state data will be collected – but have no data – will not be considered for oral presentations.
• Abstracts will be accepted where data have been recently published (within 6 months of submission date) including currently submitted.
• Attendance at ISTS 2023 is a requirement for an abstract being either delivered as an oral platform presentation or displayed as a poster. It is required that at least one of the authors register for the ISTS 2023 in order to present the research (oral or poster).
• Oral presentations are scheduled for 10 minutes: 8 min for presentation followed by 2 minutes of discussion time (Q&A). Only one author can present.
• Posters are to be in portrait layout and should not exceed a height of 59,4 cm and a width of 42 cm. All references must be Vancouver style.
• Once the poster is accepted, the authors must:
• Send a PowerPoint slide, 16: 9 format, without animations, to the organizing committee for the 1-minute poster pitch session.
• Provide a digital copy of the poster (PDF) to publish on the website after the conference.

• Presenters are requested to disclose actual or potential conflicts of interest regarding their presentation in the first slide. This will allow the audience to take potential conflicts of interest into account when assessing the objectivity of the
• The submitter accepts responsibility for the abstract’s accuracy and scientific content
• Contributors should not use these sessions for marketing opportunities for new products, equipment or organisations, nor to speak negatively of competitors’
• All presentations during ISTS 2023 must include the same content and follow the same outline as that described in the submitted and accepted abstract.
• All presentations must describe original work to which all the authors listed have made a significant contribution.
• In health care research, independent ethical review is a legal requirement. Please be sure to follow the legal requirements of your country/organisation, and record it in your presentation.

You will be asked to declare that you have received ethical approval for your study (if relevant), and you will be requested to confirm that you will declare any conflict of interests in your presentation at the conference.

• Applicants will be notified of the acceptance of their abstract(s) by June 9, 2023.
• Notification of outcome of the abstract review process will be sent to the submitter. The submitting author will be responsible for informing all co-authors.
• In case of having an abstract accepted, this will not be confirmed until the author has registered.
• Accepted abstracts will be published in the ISTS 2023 Abstract book (digital version). The author(s) for each abstract included in the ISTS 2023 programme transfers copyright to the ISTS Scientific Committee to publish their abstract electronically and in other formats.
• Withdrawal requests should clearly state the reason for All authors must approve the abstract retraction. Please email a copy of the abstract, letter of withdrawal, and statement indicating all authors approving the withdrawal to before 9 October 2023

• The abstract must be written in English.
• The abstract should not exceed 300 words (excluding author names, affiliations and contact details of the presenting author).
• Please select one of the of the four topics that best describes your abstract
• No images, tables or graphs are permitted
• References are not required

The author should use the ISTS 2023 abstract submission template available at the website (abstract section), without modifying the format, and taking into account the following recommendations

• TITLE:
• Do use ALL CAPS for the title.
• The title should be brief (limited to a maximum of 15 words)
• Do not use abbreviations or acronyms in the abstract

• AUTHORS:
• Please note that the authors’ names should be listed as follows: Lastname Firstname initials1 (no dots between initials), Lastname Firstname initials2.
• The name of the presenting author must be underlined.
• Affiliations:
• Please use 1, 2, 3 numbering after the last name initials (such as Taylor G¹, Miller SW ^1,2) for affiliation.
• If more than one affiliation is listed, please use 1, 2, 3 to number them.
• Please list: the affiliation, city, country and e-mail address.
• All subsequent correspondence regarding the abstract will be with the person who submits the abstract online. The presenting author must be named in the abstract but does not have to be the first named author.

• ABSTRACT:
• All abstracts must be structured using the following headings: (i) Introduction, (ii) Objective, (iii) Methods, (iv) Results, (v) Conclusion.
• In addition, authors should include brief key points in the grey box, pointing out the IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE that clearly indicate the practical relevance of your results. (limit: 50 words).
• Up to five key words that describe your work.
• Ensure you include an acknowledgement of any sources of funding.

In submitting an abstract you must confirm that:

• You accept responsibility for the accuracy of the abstract and understand that it will be published exactly as submitted. No modifications or corrections can be made after the submission deadline.
• The content of the abstract is supported and agreed upon by all co-authors. All co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract in its entirety
• The submitting author agrees to being the contact person for all correspondence about the abstract, and agrees to sharing information with all other co-authors about its status
• Permission has been obtained from the relevant regulatory authority for all studies involving human participants or animal subjects, and informed consent has been obtained where appropriate
• Consent has been provided by anyone who is identifiable in a presentation
• Any copyright/ permissions relating to any previous presentations, equipment or other material for inclusion in ISTS 2023, its proceedings or other conference publications have been secured
• The work is original and does not infringe upon any copyright, proprietary or personal right of any third party. Extracts from copyrighted works must have permission from the copyright holders
• Any personal conflicts of interest e.g. financial interest in products or processes described in the abstract, stock ownership, membership on a board or directors of advisory board or other substantive relationships have been identified and disclosed
