It is my distinct honor to present you with this international event, this year dedicated to Oncologic Physical Therapy between Friday 10th and Saturday 11th of November 2023 at Museu de les Arts i les Ciències de València.

The Scientific Committee, which he proudly chairs, has worked hard to bring expert physiotherapists in oncology physiotherapy from different parts of the world, including Spain, the United Kingdom and Australia, to share their valuable clinical experience and the results of their latest research work. with all of us.

Oncologic Physical Therapy has worked its way up to merit recognition from the American Physical Therapy Association as a specialty practice, due to the progressive growth in clinical practice advances and associated research. Physical therapists are members of a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals that include physicians, nursing, occupational therapy and social work.

This event will give you the opportunity to broaden your knowledge in therapeutic exercise prescription to adult and pediatric populations, linfedema and soft tissue mobilization to breast cancer patients, the existing barriers between physical therapists and their direct approach to patients with cancer; all of that brought to you through lectures and workshops, designed to prod your curiosity and reeinforce your knowledge in this clinical arena.

Furthermore, this event will be a great opportunity to remind governamental local authorities and public in general of the need to include physical therapists in health care teams dedicated to treat cancer patients in hospitals and primary care centers in the Valencian Community; physical therapists provide the opportunity to oncology patients to regain function and health and, therefore, a better quality of life.
